How can I get my teen to attend?

Getting a teen to attend something new can be a challenge. Some parents have actually asked if they can bribe their teens to attend, but I’m not sure that is the best route! Still, fighting for youth group may well be worth your energy. Many of our GUS and Village Alumni are living their faith with real passion! Some of our teens have even gone on to discern and enter the religious life!

Many of our teens who are actively participating do say that they had some fear about coming the first time, and it was helpful to have their parents give them a nudge. Explore who among their friends is participating already. With over one hundred teens attending yearly- chances are some of their friends are already coming to Grown-Up Soda events.

Try challenging your teen to attend a couple times. Your encouragement may be just what they need to get over the hump!
